Always a Good Soldier

As a wet behind the ears army brat I befriended Pete when he was an enlisted man in Mainz Germany in the summer of 1961 or -2. He taught me to respect and ride BMW motorcycles and to buy and maintain a used one. He was kind, patient, serious and proud of his Lithuanian heritage. I liked and respected him but lost touch with him, to my regret. I would be happy to hear from family who knew the course of his life before his last full measure of devotion.

Never Forgotten

Peter, it is said that a man hasn’t died as long as he is remembered. Rest in peace knowing that you are remembered and honored. Thank you for your service. Prayers to your family and friends. Garryowen!

Many of the men who served in Charlie Company 1st Bn, 7th Cavalry, First Cavalry Division (Airmobile) in Vietnam during the period 1970 through 1971 have begun gathering together annually. One of the purposes of our reunions is to honor the 28 men who lost their lives during this period. These men made the ultimate sacrifice for their country, but most of all, they sacrificed for their brothers who fought beside them.

You are Never Forgotten.
