class of 61

Dennis was quite a character. I remember his 53 chevy with the very short 3-speed corvette shifter. He had to virtually disappear from site when shifting it. We all hung out at Herman's drug store and threw pickles on the plate glass windows and stuck straw paper on the ceiling. I came back from Vietnam in the spring of 69 and heard Denny was activated from the reserves. Sadly learned later that year about his wounds. God bless and keep you Dennis.

Remembered

DEAR SPEC 5 BOYER,
THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE AS A LIGHT-WHEEL VEHICLE MECHANIC. TODAY IS THE ASCENSION, AND MANY CHRISTIANS ARE IN PRAYER. MEMORIAL DAY IS APPROACHING, BUT ON ALL DAYS WE SHOULD HONOR YOU. IT HAS BEEN FAR TOO LONG FOR ALL OF YOU TO HAVE BEEN GONE. WE APPRECIATE ALL YOU HAVE DONE, AND YOUR SACRIFICE. WATCH OVER THE U.S.A., IT STILL NEEDS YOUR COURAGE. GOD BLESS YOU. MAY THE ANGELS BE AT YOUR SIDE. REST IN PEACE. YOU ARE ALL IN OUR PRAYERS.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear SP5 Dennis Michael Boyer, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
