Gone but not forgotten
Your life and memory are remembered everyday by your family. It is seen daily in the faces of your family a look that takes them to another time but always brings a smile. I wish that I had been able to meet my cousin that everyone is so proud of. I was born only a few weeks after you had to leave and continue your journey that was meant to be. Your mom is in good care. My dad sees to that. Dad let me read your letter about wanting to put combat boots on me and how you taught me those bad words! That brings a smile. Dad is a minister now and I turned out to be a girl. I feel that you know that already. I have always felt that you have been my guardian angel and have looked out for me many times. Thank you for your bravery and commitment. You continue to live in the hearts of your family, those who were able to share your life and share it with the rest of us. Rest in Peace.

Sacrifice
What is a sacrifice? Throughout everyones' lives a sacrifice has been given. In my eyes, your sacrifice was one that can not be more self-less and caring for other people. The one and only life that you had was given to your country so that i may have the rights to freedom of speech, religion. Although this is a post that i am doing for the "Gridley High School Posting Project," this is a topic that touches very close to my heart. I may never have the opportunity to sacrifice my life for my country the way you have had the chance to. In a few years when i join the army, im risking my life for my country. I may never have that opportunity that you did to die for your country. And because of what you gave up, that makes you a hero in not just my eyes, but in fellow Americans' eyes. I thank you for the ultimate sacrifice that you gave.
