Best Buddy in Basic

Tommy, I remember you as a strong and tough little cuss. You got out and went to AIT and I to OJT; we ended up in the same place; we both got our purple hearts brother! We made it. Those who were not there cannot understand. We who were there will never wash it out of our minds. God bless you, my friend

A true American hero

Tommy, Thank you for your service. There are no words that can express my gratitude. I know that freedom isn't free. You gave all and you always will be remembered. I have learned much about you recently. I am honored that you are part of our family. Your half first cousin. Dawn Bowman.

THANKS

DEAR CORPORAL TOMMY BOWMAN,
THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE AS AN INFANTRYMAN. TODAY IS ARMED FORCES DAY. MEMORIAL DAY IS APPROACHING, BUT ON ALL DAYS WE SHOULD HONOR YOU. IT HAS BEEN FAR TOO LONG FOR ALL OF YOU TO HAVE BEEN GONE. WE APPRECIATE ALL YOU HAVE DONE, AND YOUR SACRIFICE. WATCH OVER THE U.S.A., IT STILL NEEDS YOUR COURAGE. GOD BLESS YOU. MAY THE ANGELS BE AT YOUR SIDE. REST IN PEACE. YOU ARE ALL IN OUR PRAYERS.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear CPL Tommy Ray Bowman, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

Neaighbor on Ashland

You lived up the street from me. I remember talking to your mom the day you left for Vietnam . My hart ached for her and your family. We played together as children. May you rest in Gods love.
