Dear Sp4 Robert Swedenburg, Thank you for your service as an Indirect Fire Infantryman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Today is Flag Day, and the birthday of the Army. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Bob, I remember those days we did infantry training together in Ft. Benning and flew to Nam together and got assigned to different units. I remember hearing the news only a couple of months after we arrived, was absolutely devastated by your loss as

We were neighbors to the Swedenburg family. On the day we received the news of Bobby's death I felt such deep sadness, and my heart went out to his family. I was 12 at the time. It is an event in my life that is etched in my heart and I will always remember. Thank you Bobby for your bravery and for giving the greatest gift of all. May the Lord Bless your soul and hold you close.

I was looking up my family on the internet and came upon this. Robert is an uncle I never got to meet, although I did get to hear some interesting stories from my mom (his sister) and aunts. I want to thank him and all military personal for what they do everyday for us and our country!! God bless you all!!
