Family Remembrance
Sully's family returned to Austin following his loss, where the majority remain. His three children have grown, married and raised families. Sully would have been the grandfather to six. He is greatly missed.
His remains were returned to the states in 1983 as a result of his wife's efforts, and are buried at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
Submitted by Thomas W. Sullivan; son of Farrell junior Sullivan.

Sully's Last Mission
My name is Bill Thaler. As a captain, I was in Lt. Col. Sullivan's squadron when it deployed to SEA in Feb 1972. That summer I was stationed at Ubon, Thailand, and was in a flight that laid down a chaff corridor for Lt. Col. Sullivan's flight. I was about 20 NM south of the target area when I saw a huge fireball as I was checking 6. That fireball turned out to be Sully's aircraft taking a direct hit from an SA-2. His pitter somehow survived the explosion, was captured, and returned at the end of the war.
