Remembering An American Hero
Dear WO Leonard James Sugimoto, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

I Will Forever Remember Leonard
Thank you all for sharing your stories. I am now in contact with Joan and Gene Trask (after 43 long years). Thank you, Mr. Hinson, as you provided insight into my husband's death I would have never known. I never knew he was still alive and put in an evac helicopter. I am saddened, yet am grateful for the information. When I tried to inquire about the crash shortly after his death, I was notified that the facts were not available to me. Whoever 'Ski' is, yes, Leonard had a wonderful smile. And, I must thank my friend, Rick, who searched for answers to my questions, and found this site.
