My name is Larry Mazer, I am from Somerset Co, Pa. I spent a little over a week with Dennis in Singapore on an R&R, because we were both from Pa and had the same birth date 3-14, we spent the whole week together. A short friendship, but someone never to be forgotten, a brave soldier a short, but lifetime friend.

Dear Sp4 Dennis Spahn, Thank you for your service as an Airborne Qualified Infantryman with the 1st Cavalry. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is Holy Thursday, and tomorrow starts Passover . Time moves quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Specialist Four Dennis M Spahn was awarded the Silver Star Medal for his conspicuous gallantry in action. He served as an Infantryman, Airborne Qualified, and was assigned to B Co, 1st Bn, 8th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Div.
