honoring you.....

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. While all deaths in Vietnam are tragic that you died on your 19th birthday is especially so. May you rest in eternal peace.

NED SOWLE- REMEMBERED BY HIS FAMILY

Ned Sowle grew up in Galway, New York. His Mom Myra, named all five of her sons with names beginning with the letter N. The boys all went to schools in Galway and nearby Broadalbin. Myra died in 2009. In recent years, the Sowle house burned down, taking with it, the known pictures of Ned. A disheartened nephew of Ned’s sought out a better photo for an uncle he never knew. Two of Ned’s brothers and their wives worked on this and one of the families found this great photo of Ned and shared it with the VVMF and The Wall of Faces. Now the entire family can see this photo of Ned. Thanks to the Sowle family, our entire country can see this photo of Ned, a US Marine who gave his life in Vietnam on his 19th birthday.

Thank You

Dear Lcpl Ned Sowle, Thank you for your service as an Electrician. Hate that you passed on your birthday. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is Holy Thursday, and tomorrow starts Passover . Time moves quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.
