Dear Sgt George Soliz, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman, I researched you on the 54th anniversary of the start of your tour. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is Spring , and Lent. Time moves quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

My dad Jose Gonzalez served side by side with George Soliz in the Vietnam War. When my dad came back from Vietnam and met my mom he said if they had a son he wanted to name him after his friend who never made it back home. I'm George Gonzalez and named after this hero. George was a bit older than me, (11 years), but I still remember him from when we were kids in Kenedy. I remember him riding his bike around the neighborhood on those dusty, dirt roads. I remember going to his burial when I was around 14. May you rest in peace, George.
