Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. As long as you are remembered you will remain in our hearts forever….

This is my uncle, PFC Ismael Solis, and a buddy. They must have been in the same unit. I was posting in hopes that I would be able to give them or their family members a photo of their loved one. I unfortunately do not have many photos of my uncle because he was killed in Vietnam. I do hold onto these, which are the last ones of such a young life, taken too soon like countless others. If anyone happens to know or remember, please reach out. Thank you, Lucy.

This is my uncle, Ismael Solis and a friend of his in Vietnam. I was hoping to find out if anyone would know who his friend was. I would like to leave a message on his wall but also, hoping to give his family a photo of him also for them to see.

Dear PFC Ismael Solis, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is Spring , and Lent. Time moves quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

I was three men behind Ismael 'Shorty' Solace the day he was killed in an ambush at Snoopy's Nose. He was our squad's point man and moved like a demon. Bobby Woolwine, Frank Wimmer and I (Bravo 1-2 Oscar) carried Shorty from the field after the smoke cleared. He was a good, good man and a damned fine soldier.
