honoring you.....

War drew us from our homeland
In the sunlit springtime of our youth.
Those who did not come back alive remain
in perpetual springtime -- forever young --
And a part of them is with us always.

Never forgotten

It is hard to believe it has been more than 50 years since you gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country. I recall you and your family so well from years ago in Viroqua. Then, you seemed so mature, so much older than us. It was shocking to me to see you were only 19, just a few weeks in country, at the time of paying that ultimate sacrifice. You're a hero Steve, one who should never be forgotten.

Thank You

Dear PO3C Steven Smith, Thank you for your service as a Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class with the 1st Marines. I researched you on the 53rd anniversary of the start of your tour. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Spring has begun, and it's Lent. Time moves quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.
