REMEMBRANCES

LEFT FOR JOHN EDWARD SLATER

I visited the wall today, Johnny.

You were like a big brother to me, John. I fondly recall the teasing and the brotherly antics your sister and I endured throughout our childhoods. I still have the t-shirt you drew the palomino on for me....and I remember the shock I felt when I heard you were gone. Your sister and I were only 13 when you died. It was much too early for you to go. Your parents are both gone now, too. They've joined you in the treasured memories of my childhood. Thank you, Johnny.
