Not Forgotten

OP BORAWSKI! I remember us talking about what we would do when we got back to the "World". What cars we wish we could buy, all kinds of things. But you didn't make it, I was there when you left us. But you will never be forgotten.

My brother in blood

Ski, that was not a good morning 5/3/1967. I was wounded with the same mortar, my Purple Heart you paid for with your life.

A surprise was when I noticed you were born 7 day after me, being in country first I thought you were younger, I celebrated my 21st birthday in Nam, you fell only 3 months short.

You did not get to know your brother followed you into the Corps, You did not get to know you had a daughter.

Frank and Jack Benny have been gone since the 90's, Agent Orange.
Always on my mind my brother, have visited with you at THE WALL several times, sent things to your mother, who has passed many years ago and to your sister and brother. Would like to talk with your daughter, who I understand is doing well in life, however it has not happened. I would like her to know what I know about her father.

"My Purple Heart"

Ski, when I am asked about my Purple Heart, I respond That it actually belongs to James David Borawski, a good friend in Nam who had to die for me to wear one. I was wounded with the same mortar that Killed you the morning of 3 May 1967. I had contact with your mother through your sister Margret and with your brother who also joined the Corps.

I would have liked to have talked with the girlfriend when you left for Nam, however was never able to. I have done much for veterans on your behalf, you legacy is still alive. Ben Bydalek D/2/11 1966/67. for anyone who knows Ski, 321-212-9726

Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC James David Borawski, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter
