Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. You died at 18 years of age. I am 74 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.

Dear PFC Louis Skanson, Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. I researched you on the 54th anniversary of the start of your tour. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Winter will end soon. Time moves quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

I was 11 years old and an Alter Boy at St. Francis church in Rochester, MN. I was contacted to serve a funeral mass for a soldier that was killed in Viet Nam. It was Louie Skanson. I did not know him but was moved by the experience amongst his family and friends. Rest in peace Louie.
