When I arrived in Afghanistan on August 15, I couldn't help but think of what happened to you on that date in 1968. Every day I think of you and things we might have done, but my pride and respect for you and what you did in Vietnam grows stronger. I went to the 199th LIB reunion a couple times and have to say that they are one of the best groups of people that I have met in my entire life. They treated me better than gold and I wish them nothing but the best in the future. I will soon be heading home, my tour here complete, but I am more proud of what you did and what you gave than any military accomplishment I could ever achieve. Thank you for being my dad.
