Today we said goodbye to your mom.

Today we said goodbye to your mom.
Only a couple months away from turning 90 years old, we said goodbye to your mom tonight. She carried your memory and her love for you until her last moments. She was always so proud of you. I know she has finally found peace and is wrapped in your love and that of her husband. May both of you now rest in peace.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear SSGT Clifford William Silvia, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country.

The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never

be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank

you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love

you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

Best Friends in Vietnam

I was with Cliff when we were originally wounded on July 13th, 1967. There were 7 of us wounded that night. Cliff and I were best friends serving with the 25th Infantry Division. We were with each other every day. We went together on a three day Rest and Recouperation to Vung Tau on the South China Sea. After we were wounded, I was in a hospital bed across from Cliff. I had talked to him every day since we were shot. We had actually laughed because we knew our time in that Hell Hole was finally over. I didn't realize at the time what it would mean to each of us by being over, ( his death and my living and transfered home ). I spoke to Cliff on the 17th of July, just one hour before he passed away. It was and still is one of the most darkest days of my life. I forever will miss my friend.
