SAVING LIVES

I was in that platoon, and cannot say enough "THANKS" to a very, very brave man, who did not even think about his own safety, but the safety of those around him. I know you are in Heaven, as Heaven accepts true hero's to their fellow human beings.

I read your story, Lewis...

You paid the ultimate price in an awesome act of conspicuous gallantry on December 1, 1966.

I read your story in the book "Bird" by military historian and Brigadier General S. L. A. Marshall.

I recommend it for anyone who reveres our heroes. Be sure to get the version that includes the story "Ambush," which is about Lewis.

May God continue to bless your soul, Lewis. Garry Owen.
