I REMEMBER THAT NIGHT

MY FUNCTION WITH THE 25th INFANTRY WAS CLERICAL, I WAS ONE OF THE LUCKY ONES TO HAVE A JOB LIKE THIS. THE LAST JOB OF THE EVENING WAS KEY PUNCHING IN THE DAILY CASUALTY REPORT. AS I READ THE NAME R. BOLTZ WITH A SERIAL # SIMILAR TO MINE, MY HEART DROPPED AS I FOUND OUT THAT RICHIE HAD BEEN KILLED. WHAT A TRAGEDY,SO YOUNG, SO MUCH TO LIVE FOR. RICH, I REMEMBER YOU AS MY VERY FIRST FRIEND WHEN I MOVED TO RIDGEFIELD PARK IN 1957. RIP DEAR RICH. I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU.

38 Years and Counting...

In Rememberence of the 38th Aniversary of Richie's Death, Feb. 28th,
1967.....

He Was With Us In Our Younger Years
38 Years and Countin'

We Shared Some Laughter, Shed Some Tears
38 Years and Countin'

He Made Us Laugh Till We Felt We'd Cry
38 Years and Countin'

How'd We Know He'd Go and Die
38 Years and Countin'

So On We Go Without 'The Man'
38 Years and Countin'

To Live Our Lives As Best We Can
38 Years and Countin'.....

There's a bit of Richie in all of us, lets give him some thought today,
maybe some laughter, maybe a tear......
