Never forgotten

I don't know why it was you and not me. As your commander, I should have been the one in that ambush. I want you to know, we made your killers pay an awful price for what they did. Not a day has passed that I haven't remembered you and David. No commander ever had better soldiers.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear SGT Harry Lee Boles, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

I remember Harry Lee

I remember his visits home on leave. He was so handsome, attentive and strong. I know he took pride in being a soldier from the way he stood to the way he would spit-shine his boots. Every letter written to him, where ever in the world he was, he always replied. No birthday or Christmas ever went ungifted. My father begged him not to reinlist but his reply was "I have to go back to help my brothers" Harry Lee, "I love" RIP
