do not stand at my grave and weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush

Of quiet birds in circled flight.

Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

With heartfelt thanks and sorrow.
Long ago memories of a laughing, tall man swinging a little girl around before standing her on a table saying how big she now was. Later, seeing you in a uniform not quite like dad's or Don's but with a face like dad's and tall like Don. All of you gone but never forgotten. "Steven"

Ground Casualty
Camp Carroll was a United States Marine Corps artillery base located four miles southwest of Cam Lo in Quang Tri Province, RVN. Apart from the Marine batteries, Camp Carroll also included artillery pieces belonging to the United States Army. At approximately 3:00 PM on March 10, 1968, the base received several rounds of enemy mortar fire. During the bombardment, at least two rounds of 130mm artillery landed in the Army’s 8th Battalion, 4th Artillery, Service Battery area. Three enlisted men were killed and eight others were wounded. The three lost artillerymen were SP4 Freeman Bolen, PFC Ralph A. Lo Grasso, and SP4 James W. Wood. [Taken from coffeltdatabase.org and 8th-4th-arty.com]
