Silver Star Medal Award

Specialist Four Walter James Schmidt was awarded the Silver Star Medal for his exemplary courage under fire. He served as an Infantryman and was assigned to B Co, 1st Bn, 28th Infantry, 1st Infantry Division.

Were You There, Were You friends??

I noticed the date...... 11/8/66...... the same day as my brother, Charles M. Todd died in Battle of Attleboro....were you there, were you friends, did you try to save him when he went down? Did you make the bravest unselfish sacrifice in giving of your life to save my brother? If so, or if not, you will be remembered as possibly someone who might have tried, might have given of yourself to save him and yes, maybe you two were comrades, friends, heros together dying for th sake of each other.....may God bless you always. I'm sure you were a great and loving person........
