Do not stand at my grave and weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
Mary Frye – 1932

Thank You
Dear Soldier, I am extremely grateful for the ultimate sacrifice that you have paid for me and the rest of American citizens. We are posting remembrances as a history project at Gridley High School in Gridley, Illinois. I view this as much more than just a project, I think of it as a great way to remember those who have fallen for this great country. I am extremely grateful because it takes a lot of courage to do what you have done.
