honoring you.....
War drew us from our homeland
In the sunlit springtime of our youth.
Those who did not come back alive remain
in perpetual springtime -- forever young --
And a part of them is with us always.

Thank You
Dear Lcpl Ronald Schmid, Thank you for your service as an Antitank Assaultman. Your 55th anniversary is soon, sad. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Today is the first day of winter and is Christmas is soon. Time moves quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

From a Friend
Though Ron was 2 years older than me, we were friends. I rode with him to Mt. Vernon, Wi many times along with other mutual friends. I will always remember him as a happy, go lucky young man unbothered by any complexities of life. Sadly, he never got to really grow up and is now one of 58,000+ names engraved on a wall. He will always be much more to those of us who got to know him and we will always remember. Thank you LCPL RONALD K. SCHMID for your ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. I took this picture many years ago of the panel showing Ron's name on The Wall.

Your Home Town Remembers You Stiill
Ronald,
Your sister Beverly was a classmate of mine. Our parents were friends. I left Juda many years but I still have many memories of our little town. One of them is of you, a local brave fallen hero. This Fourth of July I thought of you and searched your name on the Internet. I am glad I found this place, the photos and remeberence of you. Your town still remembers. Rest in peace Marine.
