THE WALL OF FACES

Sandy and I were in basic, AIT and the 11th Cavalry together. I have been trying to keep up his grave site at the trails cemetery in Tahoe City. We were good friends and I truly miss his humor and his friendship. I was hit two days before he was killed, so January 1967 lives in a dark place for me.

I wore Chris' bracelet for several years and always wondered about him. Turns out he was KIA before I even got the bracelet. He died only a few months after getting in country which had to have been very difficult for his family. While I was never in the military, I was a law enforcement officer for 30 years and I thank you for the ultimate sacrifice you made. Terrible war that never should have happened.

Dear PFC Sander Sanderson, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Thanksgiving is this week. Time moves quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.
