Dear Maj Steven Sanders, Thank you for your service as a Tactical Aircraft Pilot. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Thanksgiving is this week. Time moves quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

After all these years, just learned of Steve’s loss. Flew together at Takhli, AB, Thailand. Completing my tour in July ‘70, I departed before Steve’s August shoot down. RIP Steve. See you at the Lord’s Fighter Pilots’ Bar one of these days.

One the IPs that gave us fighter pilot spirit. I was in an F4 we got shot down on second tour. Heartbreaker. One of the saddest days of my youth.
