THE WALL OF FACES

I never met you, but in the back of my grandfather's flight log he has the name of everyone that he was close to that died in Vietnam, and under your name it said roommate. And though my grandfather rarely talks about the people he knew Your name and note stuck out to me and I just want to say that you are not forgotten.

I never met Lee but I've worn/had his POW/MIA bracelet since the middle 70"s.....never knowing actually what had happened. My Father was a POW in WWII and his sufferings were great. I could only feel I was honoring 2 men who served by wearing and keeping this bracelet for all these years. To them and all our Vets who have passed....well done and thank you.

Dear LT Leland Charles Cooke Sage, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

I was serving with Lee in VA-144 embarked in the U.S.S. Bon Homme Richard (CVA-31) when he didn't return from a night mission. I remember him as always smiling, cheerful, with a great sense of humor. He was quite tall and just barely fit into the cockpit of the A-4F. Everyone, including the enlisted personnel, liked him because he was such a friendly person. My hope is someday the MIA folks will find him and bring him home.

You gave your life for your country for that we honor you. I will miss you until we are together again.
