Thank You

Dear PFC Richard Russell, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman with the 1st Cavalry. The 54th anniversary of the start of your tour is this month. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Today we honor all the souls who have passed, we honor you. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

My Friend from Santa Ana Calif. High School

Dick was a great guy to know. I remember him very well. He had a real passion to join the Army. He was very excited to go to Nam. I remember the last time I saw and spoke to him at Denny's at 17Th St. and Flower Ave. Santa Ana. It gave me the time to say good by and to wish him well. Sorry for his loss. I was drafted in April of 1968 and went to Nam in 1969. I often think about the fellas I knew that did not come home. God Bless them all. I will never forget them.

I remember

I was deeply saddened many years ago when I heard we had lost you. We were classmates through all our years of school. I remember you as a kind and gentle boy.

You me and Jimmie

Will never forget you Bro, I remember you me and Jimmie leaving OC Airport together for The Nam in late Nov 1967. Arriving at the 90th replacement center assigned to the 196th Light Infantry Bde. Our orders came about day 3 and we were sent to the 1st Cavalry Division. Being 3 friends together at some point standing in a line together we were seperated 1/5 for you 1/9 for Jimmie and 1/8 for me. Miss you Brother.
