Rest peacefully my friend
Rest peacefully, former “”rommie”. Know that your daughters,
their accomplishments and their daily love for you would make you burst with pride.

Almost 47 years
I’m not sure I could volunteer of the anniversary of my Dad’s final day, but with 4 days prior to the 47th year, I am here alone with the 58,318 fallen heroes of the Vietnam War awaiting the storm that should be rolling in. Thee isn’t a day that passes I don’t miss you, Dad.

POW/MIA bracelet
I bought a POW/MIA bracelet in the early 70s, in an effort to support our troops.
Stephen Rusch was the name on it.
I still have it !
I can send it, if there is a family member that would like to have it.

I’ll always honor you, Dad
Today was my first day volunteering at the Wall. I’m so thankful to help honor the 58,200+ names etched in Memorial and am even more grateful to have an opportunity to continue to keep you alive by sharing your story. I couldn’t be more proud of you, Dad, and pray that you know the impact you have had on my life. I looked back at a message I left as a Major and wonder why I don’t remember writing it. I’m now a Colonel and will promote to Brig Gen this summer. As I’ve moved through my career, you have been beside me every day. Love you, Dad. To all who have left such touching measages, thank you! Though each brings tears to my eyes, you will never know how much each word means to family.
