your cousin George

I remember that day when I heard of your death. I was a MARINE Sgt. serving near Quang Tri with the 3rd Marines 3rd Marine division. I didn't ask for any permission to leave--but I left. I grabbed my m16 and thumbed my way to your unit. At HQ, I asked about my cousin--and the details of his death. They allowed me to view Donnnie in his body bag in what they called "the ice house".
When I returned to base, I wrote an 8 page letter to my Aunt Ruth, Don's Mother. 44 years ago , that letter was passed all around our family. I never had a chance to read what I wrote then, to this very day! I only hope that I gave some comfort to my Aunt for her loss.
I'll see you, Don, in Valhala---like all good Marines!!
Your cousin, George Full

Always

I had the joy and honor of being Don's wife. (I remarried- but not for long because it just wasn.t right) I think of him daily. He wrote of the men he was with and how special each one was. He loved to help any children who were nearby. He was a hero to me long before he went to Viet Nam. I miss him so much even all these years later. He is always with me as are all who served with him. You are all heroes to be remembered for your duty to your country!
