Fellow soldier

I only talked to Lt Ross briefly as he came into the company. He became the platoon leader of a fellow platoon. His men thought highly of him. So sorry for the family's loss.

Remembering Bill

Bill and I were in OCS together. We both went to the 4th INF Div in VN. I was a plt ldr in 1/10 Cav and he was a plt ldr in2/8 Mech Inf. On the day he was killed his platoon was attached to my Cav Trp to screen a river crossing between VN and Cambodia. I saw him hours before the mortar attack that killed him. He was travelling back from my troop CP with hot food for his troops. We had a ten minute happy reunion before he left for his position north of mine. It was just a few hours later that we heard the incoming rounds. I miss him, but I'll always be grateful for our brief reunion. God bless you Bill. I've visited you at the Memorial when I needed to "talk" to a friend. Ken Rowley
