I Need to Finally Say Goodbye

I didn't get to say goodbye at Long Binh, you went to the 101st Airborne and I went to first Air Cav Co C 1st of the 5th, I saw your name in Stars and Stripes and wept. I didn't think I would survive either. 53 years later I still miss you. I tell people about my best friend at NCO school and Fort Polk, remember the guy who recited for us all of Gunga Dun on the back steps? With bullets in the gut, bhisti and mussick and here a dooli lay. You're a better man than I am Dave Ross. I love you man.

Thank You

Dear Sgt David Ross, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is Agent Orange Awareness month. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance, and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear SGT David Seth Ross, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter
