Buddy Plan

Dick,
I remember when you, Dave Krueger, Dan Garber and I all joined the Navy on the buddy plan. I was delayed a few days because of an ear infection and because of that, never saw any of you in boot camp. We all went separate ways after that and never re-united. Sorry for your sacrifice. It could have been any of us. Thank you for your service and rest assured we always remember your at our class reunions.

Old Friend

Doc, I think of you often, still laugh about our R&R together in Manila. Went back to Nam in Sept 2013 and revisited Hill 10 where we first became friends and went out to Hill 1062 where your life was tragically taken. I was so appreciative of your family's hospitality when I went to visit them upon my return from Nam to visit your grave site. I think they drug me to every bar in Rhinelander that night at least it felt that way the next morning. Rest in peace my friend - Semper Fi.

One of my best friends!

I'm proud of you , buddy! I thought it was a raw deal at first, but that was the path laid out for us! You were always ready. I remember you being a little apprehensive, heading back the second time, but you played your part in life well! A real Marine. I'll always remember you as my best friend. Remembering An American Hero

Dear HM2 Richard Alfred Roesler, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
