honoring you.....

A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam
And for a brief moment its glory
and beauty belong to our world
But then it flies again
And though we wish it could have stayed...
We feel lucky to have seen it.

Thank You

Dear PFC Alexander Roczen, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is Autumn. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance, and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Never Forgotten

KiKi, you ran into my father while he was on leave from Germany and back in the states. Forgive me for not have all the details correct--- you saw that he was wearing his fatigues I think and you saw the last name "Wideman". Saying hello and "hey I know of a Wideman family in NY...In Fairport..., my dad, "yes I graduated in 63." Kiki "Are you related to Billy and Jim?". 'They are my brothers my dad said." He said you guys caught up on all the "good ol days" of Fairport as you lived not too far from my grandmother. Also you drank a few and my dad said he can still remember you at the jukebox---hunched over it as it played "Angel of the Morning" because my dad said you knew you weren't coming home alive. He told me this story over my visit on this past 4th of July. God Bless you for giving the ultimate sacrifice, so that we could have the freedoms we have today.

So long ago, but still in our hearts

KiKi, I remember talking with you a few months before you had to go into the war. You didn't want to go but you chose to do your duty and left with honor. You were elected as class president at Fairport class of 1965. You are a hero to all of us who knew you. Nowyour twin sister "Honey" has joined you in eternal Rest. Rest in peace with God.
