My Brother

When I arrived in Nam 12/10/69 and assigned to the 6oth, C Co. Danny & I quickly became best friends as we were the only Texans in the platoon. We kidded each other as he loved C&W and I Tejano music. I was wounded standing next to him when he died.I remember him everyday.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear SP4 Danny Leon Robinette, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter

Photo reference

That's Danny in the center of the photo with the cigarette in his mouth. I am directly behind him. I was the medic in his platoon. This was taken in April 1970 as we were leaving the Delta going into Cambodia.
