The Best of United States Air Force Fireman

I remember the night of Oct 10 1968. Of the 19 months this was truly the saddest day of the Viet Nam tour .The 2 Fireman who died in the crash were the highest quality that America had to offer . I often think of their families having to go on without them. They both will be remembered by their fellow fireman as the best of the best. I am so proud to have served with SSGT Bledsole and SSGT Orr

Remembering An American Hero

Dear SSGT Milard Luther E Bledsoe, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

you paid the price

MILARD LUTHER E BLEDSOE , I was "in country" when you made the supreme sacrifice. I never met you there and until now I didn't know you were gone. But from now on, every time I hold my hand over my heart at our anthem, I will remember you, dear friend.

I was there at crash site

I was stationed with Sgt.Bledsoe at Phan Rang Air Force base in Viet Nam. I was driving the first rescue fire truck to arrive at the crash site when the helicopter crashed. I will never forget that night when we lost two of our resue men (Sgt. Orr and Sgt. Bledsoe). It was a very sad time for all in our department. Please e-mail me if family members or friends would like to contact to me. My e-mail address is [email protected].
God Bless.
