Healing from the War

Blea, as his friends called him, attended North High in Denver, his mother and Dad owned a restaurant Nopal, in North Denver. Blea was Golden Glove boxing Champion. Blea and his friends would hang out at my Mother's [Julia Sandoval ]]restaurant called La Hacienda #2. 3600 Navahoe, Blea knew he was going to die in VietNam, he told me so. He said that "he would not be here physically, but he would always be here spiritually." I have a book with his name on the front cover. The book is titled " healing from the war. " Feeling guilty about his death, that I made it this far in life. I am also a Vietnam Veteran. Blea kept his word that he would always be with me spiritually. When I found this book is all the proof I needed. Rest in peace brother, till we meet again.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear CPL Robert Daniel Blea, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
