Remembering An American Hero
Dear 1LT Michael Joseph Blassie, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, Sir
Curt Carter

BIEN HOA
I remember Lt Blassie from my tour at Bien Hoa 71-72. I was NCOIC of Flight Medicine and was honoured to have met him and other pilots of the 8th SOS. The 8th SOS flew many sorties during that Easter Offensive of '72 and brought honour to themselves and the Air Force...Tho if truth be told they were not after medals or awards - but as all of us were just doing our jobs.......to Mike and others lost I say thank you and God bless................
