LEFT FOR JOHN MATHEW AINSWORTH JR

John "Tank" Ainsworth was a neighbor (Island Road), friend and fellow commercial fisherman as a member of the Stonington, CT fleet. He fished aboard Stonington's last schooner, the "Jane Dore" before joining the Corps. He was a tough guy with a sense of humor. Eevn his dog "Tag" was a tough mutt. He was a good man who answered his country's call. Thank God for the Wall - no one should forget the sacrifices of our young soldiers in Southeast Asia. He is missed, and my heart goes out to his Mom and brother. Bob Craig

Honoring you

I chose your name from the CT map in our school which lists the soldiers from our State that lost their lives in Vietnam. As part of the Capt. Nathan Hale Middle School posting project, I would like to honor the sacrifice you made for our country. You are truly a hero for sacrificing your life during the Vietnam War. Only the bravest men would go and fight and only the bravest lost their lives. Thank you for fighting for our country. You will be remembered for ever.
