Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC Patrick Earl Blagg, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter

Platoon 1001 1968

Patrick and I were in the same platoon in boot camp at San Diego in May 1968. We went to the Rifle Range and ITR together but that's where we separated. I didn't find out till thirty years later that he made the ultimate sacrifice for his country. As busy as we were in boot camp we all became close because we depended on each other for support and to learn teamwork. Thank you for your support when I was in Boot camp, I know I won't ever forget you just like your Country will never forget your and your families sacrifice. Semper Fi Marine and God Bless.
