Thank You

Dear PFC Alan Ramsey, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Independence Day just passed. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

A friend when needed.

I was in Basic Training at Ft. Polk, La. Things were difficult for me at that time. We went to the same High School. Al was in the class ahead of me. Al and his friend Joe P. found me and we chatted for what seemed a long time. If I remember correctly, we met at the PX when we could. After basics I changed Forts before going to Viet Nam. My Dad sent me the notice Al had been killed several weeks into country. He became my Hero! I came home, but always thought of him. I dedicated flags to him at healing fields and visit his grave to place same. Hero and friend when I needed one. (Joe P. if you read this please contact me!)

Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC Alan Ryan Ramsey, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
