Thank You

Dear Sgt. Bernard Propson, Thank you for your service as an Airborne Qualified Infantryman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Summer has begun. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear SGT Bernard Ambrose Propson, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

A Hero Remembered

Bernard (Bernie),
The Eighth grade students at the Medford Area Middle School, Medford, WI have been working on a project to put faces with the names of each of the 1160 men from the state of Wisconsin who are listed on 'The Wall.' It is our hope that through your picture your legacy will live forever.

Thank you for your service to your country and for your sacrifice.

You are not forgotten.

It should be noted that Bernard was from Hilbert WI. Also KIA from Hilbert WI, John (Jackie) Willems JR., Marvin Propson (cousin to Bernard), and James (Jim) Diedrich).

Jackie, Bernie, and Marvin worked at Ariens in Brillion, WI. Jackie and Bernie lived less than a mile a part, went to school together and to work together. Both boys were killed within two days of each other, and just a few miles apart. The funerals for both boys were six days apart.

Jim was a neighbor of Jackie's wife and drove their wedding car on 27Sept68.
