You are remembered

I was a Police Officer in the city of Richland and talked to Mark often. He was always one of the young people that a Police Officer enjoyed passing the time of day with, while on patrol.
The last time I visited with Mark was the day before he was to leave for Viet Nam. He stopped to say Hello and tell me where he was headed. I have thought of him often since that time.
What a nice young man.

Mark Stephen Black

I knew Mark's brother in high school, I remember walking out of Mac Hall at the High School, in the parking lot was Mark's mother. She had driven to the high school to get Mark's brother, and she was crying, she had come to tell his brother. It was the saddest thing I have ever seen, and it brought home the grief of all the families who lost their son. To this day I have never been able to put this memory behind me.
