THANKS

DEAR LANCE CORPORAL BLACK,
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE AS A RIFLEMAN. IT HAS BEEN FAR TOO LONG FOR ALL OF YOU TO HAVE BEEN GONE. WE APPRECIATE ALL YOU HAVE DONE, AND YOUR SACRIFICE. WATCH OVER THE U.S.A., IT STILL NEEDS YOUR COURAGE.. GOD BLESS YOU. MAY THE ANGELS BE AT YOUR SIDE. REST IN PEACE. MANY OF US HAVE BEGUN OUR JOURNEY TO EASTER. AND YOU ARE ALL IN OUR PRAYERS.

No greater gift.

I only know of you from stories from your friends growing up. There are no words. Only to say you sacrificed the most and no greater gift to this country could one give. God bless you , your family, and America????

Never Forgotten

Mark, It's coming up on 48 years since you laid down your life for your country. You are still not far from my thoughts. I have watched as your mother and brother have been called home to join you. Your father is now into his 90's and is one of the most amazing people I know. I got to visit with him a couple of summers ago. I told him that I had spent the past 10 Memorial Days at the wall with you. There aren't words enough to properly thank you for your service and sacrifice as well as the sacrifices your family had to make because of you not being here.

A wonderful human being.

Brother David,Mark and I spent summer of 1963 at Clear Water Park, playing basketball. He was a great athelete and a wonderful human being. I went to Oak Hill HS and watched him play a couple games. The morning I picked up the newspaper and saw his picture ,was one of the worst days of my life.Im south of Charlotte,NC now,but when I go back to Marion, I always visit his grave.Hope you are ok.Take care.
