Remembering An American Hero

Dear SP4 Monroe Alan Powers, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

You are not forgotten.

I still remember your Petula Clark records. I will never forget the day I came home from school and my mother was crying so bitterly she could not tell me what had happened for a long time. That was the day we got the news of your death. Time stopped for our neighborhood while we mourned your death. I will look your parents up and pay them a visit the next time I am in N.N.

Thank You

Thank you for serving our country and helping to make this country a nation of freedom. Even though
you are gone we will always remember the way you fought to keep this land free. The attacks on
9/11 has had us all thinking and praying that it'll just go away, but it won't. I pray that more young
soldiers like yourself will take a stand like you did and fight for this country. You and many others
have made such a sacfifice for us, so i would like to thank you, forever and always.
