honoring you.....

A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam
And for a brief moment its glory
and beauty belong to our world
But then it flies again
And though we wish it could have stayed...
We feel lucky to have seen it.

Thank You

Dear PFC Bartow Potts, Thank you for your service as an Antitank Assaultman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Sunday was the 77th anniversary of D-Day, Operation Overlord. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

I Remember

I remember those crazy teenage years in high school with Bartow. He was a good friend and great guy. While I was in the Army and home on leave I heard he had been taken from us. Thanks buddy for your sacrifice and know you are not forgotten and that I try to live my life in honor of you and the others. Hope to see you again someday. SGT. John Danny Gay

I was there

I didn't know Bartow, but I was there and saw the entire event from 50' away. The day before our unit had lost 8 guys and requested reinforcements. Bartow and the others were sent in to reinforce us. I was talking to the chopper pilot when he lost power and crashed in front of us. I helped retrieve all the bodies and put them on the next chopper. I will never forget that day and am so sorry Bartow and the others lost their lives.
