POSTED ON 7.29.2012
If I should die...remembrances for CAPT. Gary Thurston PORTER, USMC...who died for our country!!!!!!
If I should die, and leave you here awhile, be not like others, sore undone, who keep long vigils by the silent dust, and weep...for MY sake, turn again to life, and smile...Nerving thy heart, and trembling hand to do something to comfort other hearts than thine...Complete these dear, unfinished tasks of mine...and I, perchance, may therein comfort you.

Gary:
It is a priviledge to be remembered to a great friend, like you. I always enjoyed playing cribbage with you during our aviation training in Pensacola in 65-66. I wish I could get in touch with your family but have been unsuccessful. I do remember your wife, Ruth, and hope she has been happy in her life. A big salute to you for giving the supreme sacrifice for our country. God be with you and God bless the USA.
your friend,
Tom Upright
