Marine message center specialist

David C. Piotrowicz

The 1967 Cardinal Dougherty High School graduate was to be married when he returned home from Vietnam. Piotrowicz had joined the Marine Corps in February 1968. The 19-year-old private first class, a message center specialist, was assigned to Headquarters and Service Company of the 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division. Piotrowicz died in Quang Nam Province 10 days before Christmas Day 1968. He was survived by his mother, a brother and sister.

I looked at your picture the other day as sometimes I do and we're both getting wrinkled and discolored.Two gung-ho recruits from philly both graduated from catholic high school and born 4 days apart heading from 401 n.broad to P.I.What a pair of MARINES we were going to make.The d.i's loved us catholic boys for some reason.You'll always be remembered as good MARINE and a good FRIEND.Save me a bunk in heaven and don't short sheet it.SEMPER FI
