do not stand at my grave and weep.....

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

You will never be forgotten

Lynn, l remember the day l learned you had lost your life. Your mom and dad, Homer and Pinky, had come to school to pick up your sister Debbie. As l was walking into the school they were walking out and l knew something was wrong. When l got home my parents told me. I will always remember how when l was hanging at your house with your sister, you always watched me walk home to be sure l made it OK. On Palm Sunday, you walked me home because of the tornado warnings that were out. Again, making sure l got home safely. You would take Debbie and l to the country club for sock hops and then to Azars for ice cream.

The church was packed the day of your funeral. I wore a red and blue dress and carried a white sweater over my arm to hide my cast l had gotten a few weeks before. You were a good person to me and l have never forgotten you. As you always wanted to be sure l was ok, you patrolled the streets in Tay Nihn for the same real reason. Thank you for that. Thank you for the person you were. I go past your parents old home often and it is like l can see you standing barefoot in the front yard looking over us kids as we played. May you continue to Rest In Peace.

Thank You

Dear Sp4 Lynn Pierson, Thank you for your service as a Military Policeman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Yesterday was the 46th anniversary of the last day of battle of the Vietnam War, and Armed Forces Day. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.
