honoring you.....

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. While all deaths in Vietnam are tragic that you died just four days before your 20th birthday is especially so. May you rest in eternal peace.

Thank You

Dear PFC Rodney Pickett, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman with the 1st Cavalry. Your 74th birthday, and your 54th anniversary are soon, sigh. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is the 46th anniversary of the last battle of the war, and the Ascension. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

One Name

Visiting the wall as a 6th grader from Oregon, I asked my veteran dad if I could look anyone up. He said one name, Doug Pickett. He never, I mean never, spoke of the war, but said he was with Doug that fateful day in 1967. He too is gone now, but I will never forget. RIP.
